Even after hearing about the iPhone glitches in Australia and Europe, we here in the US were still thrown off guard when our iPhone alarms did not wake us up at the correct hour. Funny how easy it is to forget. I use an "old school" alarm clock, so I was did not awaken an hour late for my accounting class. Thank goodness because the I did OK on the quiz today and I need all the good grades I can get in that class. I wonder if I can ever trust iPhone with an important wake up call again?
No piece of technology is perfect and we have to remember that! I find myself totally reliant upon my iPhone sometimes, and that may come back to haunt me one day. While my iPhone did wake me up at the correct time, some of my friends fell victim to the glitch. Technology's positives definitely outweigh the negatives, but the negatives can hurt sometimes! Glad you didn't miss your quiz Mallary! Great article find.

ReplyDeleteI am so glad, this did not happen to me as I reset all the alarms on my iphone as soon as I read your previous blog post. Its interesting to see how we become so Technology Dependant that we cannot even wake up to other old school clock alarms and have to use our phones. Even if I have my regular alarm clock set, I do not wake up until I hear the exact alarm ring tone on my iPhone! I am sure this is going to come back at me one day when my phone gets lost or breaks!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you did not miss your accounting quiz and hope that Apple fixes this issue soon with their next software update !
I've gotten to the point of having two alarm clocks: my phone and one that plugs in. The phone is in case the power goes out, and the plug-in is in case my phone fails me. Luckily I had this system in place before hand, but I'm sure people were horribly inconvenienced by this issue, missing flights, doctor's appointments, etc. Makes me nervous for when we spring forward...
